Who We Are

Launched in 2022 as part of a Behavioral Health Justice Intervention Services (BHJIS) Grant, CRU was created to provide officers with an essential tool for assisting individuals during some of their their most difficult times.

At times, this may look like a CRU member providing outreach if someone is experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness, providing a dual response with an officer during a behavioral health episode or outreach anywhere in the community to bring services directly to the person.

Our Mission

The mission of the Care Response Unit is to reduce law enforcement contact with individuals homelessness, mental health conditions and/or homelessness.

Through our compassionate and proactive approach, we seek to address the underlying causes of social issues and improve the well-being the participants and our community.

Meeting The Needs Of Our Community

By fostering transparency with our initiatives, the Care Response Unit will be holding    bi-monthly Community Stakeholder Meetings.

This is a open space to allow the opportunity to regularly receive feedback of current efforts as well as receiving feedback to further transform our efforts.
