Prop 47 - Coastal Expansion

CRU's expansion of services includes a partnership with the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office to cover the county's coastal areas from Point Arena to Westport. MSCO provides referrals and, when necessary, law enforcement accompaniment to meet with individuals requiring services. 

CRU has a formalized agreement with Mendocino Coast Hospitality Center to expand the scope of services offered to residents of Mendocino County by using Prop 47 grant funds to pay for additional outreach and mental health workers, as well as a stabilization bed at the Hospitality House to individuals awaiting a bed at an inpatient substance use treatment facility.

Through Prop 47 funding, CRU has purchased 6 transitional housing beds through MCHC to be used for individuals exiting inpatient substance use treatment, incarceration, or a mental health institution. This program closes the gap between institutional settings and mainstream society by providing housing, case management, and employment navigation.

Thanks to Prop 47 funding, the CRU team is able to provide comprehensive support for individuals seeking in-patient treatment. This includes making direct referrals to trusted facilities, coordinating placement based on individual needs, and offering vital wraparound services. With this funding, the CRU team can also provide transportation to treatment centers and temporary housing prior to program entry.

The purpose of the LAC is to advise on the planning, implementation, oversight, and evaluation of Proposition 47-funded programs.  The LAC provides a forum for community engagement, transparency, and accountability in the use of Prop 47 funds
